Biography

Bob Koenig has been recording/ performing music since the early 1980's. Recently having turned folk musician (playing guitar, banjo, harmonica & Mandolin) Bob also used to front a pop band called the Keys, who once appeared on Dance Party, USA. Bob was recently featured in the New York Times, as well as local papers Levittown Tribune and Mineola American, and Good Times.

Bob has also appeared on Radio, with shows like "Old Long Island," where he discussed historical aspects of Levittown, he has also played Live on "Positively Dylan," performing both Dylan and his own compositions. Recently also performed live on "Beatlesongs."

In 2006 alone, Bob has performed at many libraries, the Huntington Folk Society, Eastenders Coffeehouse in Riverhead, and played for the Levittown children at the Winterfest. Appeared in a John Lennon Birthday Celebration concert at Five Towns College. Also performed for seniors at Broadlawn manor and a AARP group from Mineola. Plus for the Centennial Celebration in Mineola. Also Appeared at Meadow Drive School to sing to their 2nd grade classes. 2007 is heading up to also be an exciting year.

Bob has issued a new CD featuring many songs about Levittown, for their 60th anniversary, titled 'Abbey Lane". .

Bob also operates the website for the Levittown Historical Society (plus being a docent for the 2nd grade school kids for their museum field trip), sets the community calendar for the Levittown Community Council, as well as a member of the Friends of the Library and Levittown Proprty Owners, as well as the Levittown Chamber of Commerce.

Bob is also the Vice President of the Hicksville Historical Society, and has made friends with other groups in Levittown, PA. Bob has finished a Bachelor's Degree in Pop Culture/cutlural studies at Empire State College, where he was recently recognized for his work and his Levittown songs! Also a writer/publisher of "Fanzines" such as Esoteric Popular Culture, Nitty Gritty Gazette and Friends Of Syd Barrett. A writer/contributor to Cool & Strange Music, Beatlefan, and Synnwatch magazines. Contributor to many pop culture books, plus editor for Bruce Spizer's Beatles Apple Book.
